Scholarships

St Michael’s Collegiate School offers scholarships to encourage outstanding students in a range of subjects. Scholarships cover some tuition fees and are designed to financially assist enthusiastic students to enjoy the benefits of the best possible education. Many of our scholarships are means-tested and are a way of embodying compassion, one of the core values of Collegiate School.

Community Scholarships

Opportunities for outstanding students to come to the School who may not be able to attend without financial assistance. Scholarships offer a reduced tuition fee and are now being offered for new students for entry at Year 4 to Year 12 in 2023.

Johns Group Tasmania Boarding Scholarship

This scholarship provides opportunities for Australian resident students from rural or regional areas who would not be able to attend Collegiate without financial assistance. Offering a reduced boarding fee, applications are invited from new students for entry at Year 6 to Year 12 in 2023. Applicants will need to demonstrate a willingness to make a positive contribution to the School and Boarding community and to embrace opportunities provided at Collegiate.  This scholarship is generously funded by the Johns Group Tasmania.

Note: Applicants for this scholarship are also able to apply for scholarships that assist with tuition fees.

Ningina Tunapri Indigenous Scholarships

Ningina Tunapri Indigenous Scholarships provide an opportunity for Indigenous students to come to the School who may otherwise not be able to attend without financial assistance and offers a reduced tuition fee. Applications are invited from new students for entry at Year 5 to Year 10 in 2023, who demonstrate a strong sense of community and willingness to embrace opportunities.

Collegiate Old Girls’ Scholarships

These scholarships provide financial assistance for new students who have a family member who previously attended Collegiate to commence in any year level from Year 4 to Year 12 in 2023. These are open to external students who would be unable to attend Collegiate otherwise, and provide a reduced tuition fee from commencement until the end of Year 12.

Students are not required to sit an examination to qualify but they must demonstrate a high degree of academic commitment and involvement in co-curricular activities at their current school.
