Todd graduated UTAS with a Bachelor of Human Movement leading to an early career as a primary HPE teacher.  The next phase of his career included four years living and teaching in the Torres Strait undertaking a diverse range of teaching and leadership roles as well as completing a Masters of Education.  On returning to Hobart, Todd took on the position of Director of Outdoor Education at The Hutchins School, a role he held for 15 years.  Appointed as the Director of Experiential Learning in 2020, Todd oversees outdoor learning, project-based learning, service learning and global learning.

Heather has enjoyed a diverse career in the not-for-profit sector, with a focus on adding value to the broader community. While undertaking roles in the areas of health and education across Tasmania, Heather has also contributed at a governance level to a number of women’s organisations, including through her Ministerial appointment to the Tasmanian Women’s Council in 2011. Following this, Heather was delighted to accept a Ministerial appointment as Chair of the judging panel for the Tasmanian Honour Roll of Women 2014 – 2018 and became the Tasmanian Ambassador to the National Honour a Woman program in 2020.

After completing two terms as a Director on the Board of the Tasmanian Community Fund and also on the Board of Primary Health Tasmania, Heather was appointed to the Legal Professions Board of Tasmania as a layperson member in 2018 for an initial five-year term.

Following commencement as CEO of the RHH Research Foundation in 2011, Heather was acknowledged as the Telstra Business Woman of the Year (Community/Government Sector) for Tasmania in 2013 and continues to contribute to this program as a judge in the state and national awards. She is inspired about the potential for women and girls to join together in making a difference to communities across Tasmania and sees her role as Chair of Collegiate’s Board as offering valuable future opportunities to assist with this.

Heather’s most rewarding role is, of course, as a mum. She has two children, now young adults, who both commenced their association with Collegiate from their days at the Early Learning Centre. Heather is honoured to have this chance to become more closely involved in the strategic direction of St Michael’s Collegiate and its broader community over the coming years.

Ms Sophie Davidson has a 30-year association with Collegiate and is deeply committed to single-sex education for girls. She is a past staff member, an Old Girl of the School (Class of 1988) and her daughter (Class of 2018) is a 4th generation Collegiate student.

Sophie specialises in fundraising and philanthropy, with particular expertise in major gifts. She works to ensure donors achieve sustainable impact as well as a true sense of partnership through their collaboration. Sophie has worked in the not for profit sector in the United States and Australia for more than 20 years – across education, conservation, social justice and the arts. Her efforts have seen more than $100 million delivered to a variety of causes.

Sophie assists Australian Indigenous organisations on a pro bono basis. She lives in Tasmania with her husband Ben and 16-year-old daughter Lily.

Brian has been a valued member of the Collegiate community for over 15 years, leading a dedicated team of maintenance staff in caring for our extensive buildings and grounds. In this time he has overseen significant redevelopments and coordinated major building projects.

With three individual campuses to maintain, as well as Collegiate’s sporting facilities at Tolmans Hill, Brian’s attention to detail is clearly evident. The time and effort required to ensure the preservation of Collegiate’s many historic buildings is testament to Brian’s outstanding project management skills.

Brian has recently completed a Certificate IV in Leadership & Management.

Reverend Kate Boughton is the Chaplain at St Michael’s Collegiate School in Hobart. She was ordained as a Deacon in 2008 and a Priest in 2010. Before coming to Collegiate her roles have seen her work extensively with children, youth, young adults and their families, both here in Tasmania as Assistant Curate at St David’s Cathedral and Diocesan Ministry Assistant, and in Melbourne as an Associate Minister at St Jude’s Anglican Church.

In Parish context, Kate reflects that she might see students for four hours each week. In comparison, the school environment can see communication with students for up to where it can be thirty-five hours plus. Schools have a huge influence on our young people – second to the family – and Kate is honoured to be here serving the Collegiate community, its students, staff, and families.

Kate’s prayer is that our students will indeed flourish, that they will think well and thoroughly about the Christian faith and that they will believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Kate continues to work with the Arrow Leadership Program in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Music with Honours, a Master of Divinity and is currently completing a Master of Teaching.

Louise Waterworth has thrived in Early Childhood Education and Care all her working life and accepted her first management position when she moved to the Northern Territory.

On her return to Tasmania, Louise became the State Manager for CatholicCare Children’s Services and enjoyed a fabulous five years in that diverse, challenging and rewarding role.

In order to spend more time with her children as they began upper primary school, Louise stepped back and worked part-time at Lady Gowrie Tasmania.

Louise is excited to join Collegiate as the Manager of ELC and OSHC. Our students, families and educators have given her a warm welcome and she finds the learning environment engaging, stimulating and authentic. She has fed the chooks, run across the field and enjoyed lunch with the children.

Louise enjoys gardening, swimming, water polo, days at the beach with her children and spending time on the East Coast.

Rodney has been a member of the teaching staff at Collegiate since 1999. His roles have included Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 classroom teacher and mentor, Junior School sports coordinator, teacher of HPE, House Dean of Kilburn, Year Level Coordinator in the Middle School and Head of the Faculty of Mathematics (K-12).  Rodney has great loyalty and commitment to Collegiate, he is a strong advocate for the importance of girls education and has been a key contributor to the formation of the Middle School culture.

Rodney was a keen sportsman and is now an avid supporter who enjoys early morning runs, backyard cricket and football games with his family. He is a passionate supporter of the Melbourne Football Club and enjoys watching cricket. He lives with his wife Rebecca and their two boys.

Born and raised in Hobart, Nicole represented Australia at the 2001 World Swimming Championships and was awarded the 2001 Tasmanian Female Athlete of the Year. In 2002, she was awarded a Centenary Medal by the Australian Government for her service to the community through swimming and as a role model for Tasmanian youth.

In 2011, Nicole completed a Bachelor of Human Movement with Honours through the University of Tasmania and was admitted to the UTAS Dean’s Roll of Academic Excellence in the Faculty of Education from 2009-2011.

She began her teaching career at St Michael’s Collegiate in 2012 in the Health and Physical Education faculty, becoming Faculty Head in 2013. In 2016, Nicole assumed the role of Head of Senior School.

As a passionate advocate for girl’s education and empowerment Nicole personifies those qualities for our students to see. She is a proud Health and Physical Education teacher, an avid sports fan and a wide reader. She lives with her husband Geoff and their son.

Tim began his career as a software engineer before moving into ICT in the education sector. Prior to joining St Michael’s Collegiate, Tim and his family lived in Sydney where Tim led the team at Kambala, one of NSW’s top girls schools.

With two young daughters of his own, Tim is dedicated to ensuring that students have access to the educational skills and opportunities that they will need in the world of tomorrow. By the time our youngest students enter the work force, it will be a vastly different landscape to that of today. Students will need to be innovative and adaptable to carve out a career in industries that may not even exist today. Tim’s goal is to ensure that our students have resources to explore and adapt to the changing nature of the global workforce.

To better lead the fusion of education and technology, Tim is currently undertaking a Master of Education which complements his Bachelor of Information Technology and other industry certifications.

Fergus is an experienced manager with over 20 years of commercial, financial and operational experience. During this time, Fergus held two Chief Financial Officer (CFO) roles with ASX listed companies, both national groups operating in agriculture and financial services. He also has experience operating a consulting business, assisting not-for-profit, small business and corporate clients. He has a strong customer service focus.

The COO’s responsibilities include financial management, governance, risk management, ICT, enrolments, business operations and property services. Fergus is an ex officio (non-voting) member of, as well as Secretary to, the School’s Board.

Fergus has a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours from the University of Tasmania, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Deakin University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Governance Institute of Australia and Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Fergus is married to Rachel and their three daughters are students at Collegiate. On weekends he enjoys spending time with family and cycling. His community involvement includes volunteering at other not-for-profit organisations, one as a Director and another as a youth mentor.

Deb has had a wonderfully diverse teaching career. Her first position was in Papua New Guinea at Madang International Primary School. She went on to teach in Greece, London, Indonesia and then in Hobart for the Department of Education. Working mostly with primary age students, along with early learning, she has also enjoyed coaching international students in preparation for university.

Appointed as the Literacy Coordinator for Prep to Year 6 at Collegiate, Deb graduated as a Master Teacher in 2006. She took on the position of Director of the Enrichment, Differentiation and Gifted Education (EDGE) program in 2007.

An Old Girl of the School (as are her sister and three nieces), Deb knows that she covered a lot of ground between being a student and returning as a teacher. She highly values the strong bond within the school community and feels privileged to be working at Collegiate.

Deb received an ASG National Excellence in Teaching Award in 2010. She is married and has two sons.

He was appointed as CEO of RACT Insurance in 2009 and has worked within the General Insurance industry for over 25 years, previously within the Suncorp – Promina group as Executive Manager for South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania, and Western Australia overseeing all facets of general insurance operations.

John runs multiple businesses around Australia and India and has been heavily involved in managing assets, properties, an IT company and even establishing schools in India. His main business is managing a fund that owns and operates motels in regional Australia.
John is deeply honoured to be able to serve his community as a Board member of Collegiate and serves with a sense of being part of an important and significant history. As a school parent of three wonderful young women, he understands the perspective of both parents and students.
John is a Board member of many charities and not-for-profit organisations including, Presbyterian Care Tasmania and was involved in establishing the Tasmanian Christian Fund. He is a member of St Clements Church in Kingston and is a keen outdoor adventurer with a penchant for high altitude mountains.

Tim is a Senior Director with the Department of Police, Fire & Emergency Management (DPFEM) leading large scale programmes of work and providing specialist advice on police specific systems. Prior to joining DPFEM, Tim was Partner with KPMG as well as previously being the Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at MyState Limited, a publicly listed national financial services company.

Tim has extensive international corporate and consulting senior management experience having worked in Australia, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and India on large organisational investment and transformation projects covering mergers and acquisitions, strategy development and implementation, market development, organisational restructuring and performance optimisation.

Tim holds an MBA from the AGSM, MA and BA (Hons) from The University of Melbourne and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is married to Gaye and their daughter Sarah is a student at the school. On weekends he enjoys spending time with family and cycling.

Susannah has a strong association with the School, being a third generation Collegiate girl and current parent.  Susannah is a Hobart based lawyer who graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2006. After commencing her career in private practice, Susannah has worked as corporate counsel and Company Secretary for both private and public organisations over the last 10 years.  Susannah has a strong background in corporate, commercial  and property law, with a particular interest in corporate governance.

Susannah grew up in the Derwent Valley and now lives in Hobart with her family. They like to spend their time at Susannah’s family farm and boating in Tasmania’s beautiful waterways.

As an old girl and boarder at Collegiate, Susannah is pleased to reconnect to the school as a member of the Board.

Bobby has been an educator and educational leader in Tasmania for over 40 years, including a total of 23 years as Principal of Mount Carmel College and Dean and then Principal of Guilford Young College. Her achievements have been recognised by the Australian College of Educators (ACE), the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL), the Catholic Principals Association of Tasmania (CPAT), the Principals Australia Institute (PAI) and the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA).

Bobby has been a Director of the Boards of AHISA and the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (TQA), Director of Southern Cross Care (Tas), Edmund Rice Education Australia and has represented UTas on the Tasmanian Veteran’s Children Education Board and Gowrie Tasmania. She was Chair of AHISA (Tas) and Chair of SSATIS (Southern Sports Association of Tasmanian Independent Schools).

Bobby is an Associate of the Underwood Centre (UTAS), Co-ordinator of the AHISA Principal Advisor Program in Tasmania, a consultant for the AHISA 360 Degree Senior Leadership Survey, a mentor for Principals and aspiring educational leaders and has been appointed by the Department of Education as a Registration Officer for Independent Schools in Tasmania. She is currently Chair of the Board of Edmund Rice Education Australia, governing 55 schools across Australia.

Although born in London, Richard was raised in Hobart, attending The Friends’ School. He pursued studies in Architecture at the University of Sydney, obtaining a BSc (Arch) with the Building Science Prize. This led to work in London in architectural computing, whilst being the part-time road manager for a Christian rock band.

After marrying Georgina, he joined her at Moorlands Bible College in Dorset before moving back to Sydney to study at Moore Theological College as an Anglican Candidate. Completing his studies in 1996 with BD(Hons) and DipMin he worked as an Assistant Priest in Killara and then as Rector of Cronulla from 2000-2009.

Returning to Tasmania as Dean of Hobart he is keen to proclaim Jesus as Lord in the heart of Hobart, to build a community of living faith, profound hope and practical love. He also serves on the Boards of St. Michael’s Collegiate and The Hutchins School and has been a soccer coach at both schools as well.

Richard loves being with his four children, listening to music, especially prog rock, and reading, and doesn’t like going to the gym!

Susan grew up just outside Sydney, NSW in a semi-rural community. She commuted from there to the CBD by train for 12 years, where she worked in international finance for Westpac Banking Corp.

After completing study at Moore Theological College, Susan spent 20 years in ordained ministry working with the Department of Evangelism in Australia and overseas, and in general parish ministry at All Saints Nowra and St Anne’s Ryde.

After residing in the USA for three years Susan moved to take up the role of Rector of St Stephens, Wynyard in Tasmania. She lives in Wynyard, loves the North West Coast and is now the Northern Evangelism and Missions Coordinator at the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania.

Susan supports Anglican Churches in their mission ‘Making Disciples of Jesus’ and also assists ministers in selection, review and coaching roles.

A keen explorer of our world, Susan enjoys living in Tasmania and having the time to photograph, paint water colours and explore the island.

Richard is the 12th Bishop of Tasmania, commencing in this role in March 2016. He leads the Diocesan Vision to be a Church for Tasmania, making disciples of Jesus, which is showing some great signs of growth and renewed ministry. He chairs Anglican Health and Welfare which provides Chaplains to hospitals and prisons, works with the Board and CEO of Anglicare to love and serve the Tasmanian community, is Visitor to the three Tasmanian Anglican Schools, and is involved in various bodies in the Anglican Church of Australia.

Prior to coming to Tasmania, Richard was the Vicar of St Jude’s Church, Carlton for 14 years, one of Melbourne’s largest Anglican churches, and was Archdeacon of Melbourne. Richard was Lecturer in New Testament at Ridley College (an Anglican training college) from 1995-2002. His formal educational qualifications are in Social Science, Theology, and Ministry.
